A big third quarter by Muhlenberg doomed the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team in a 15-9 loss, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars led 7-5 early in the third period, but Muhlenberg scored eight straight goals to take a 13-5 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Michelle Torzilli had three goals and an assist for the Cougars and
Rachel Shook had three goals and six draw controls, including the 100
th of her career.

Genevieve Montanye had a goal and two assists and
Molly Celesky scored twice.

Torzilli found Montanye just one minute into the game and Montanye found Celesky just over four minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

After Muhlenberg tied it, Torzilli put MU back in front from close range with 2:39 left in the first period.

Muhlenberg scored twice to go ahead, but Shook bounced a shot in front to pull even, 4-4.

Torzilli and Celesky scored late in the second quarter and Shook gave the Cougars a 7-5 lead early in the third.
