Kyle Vandenberg and
Jared Pelliccione combined for eight goals to lead the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team to a 15-12 win at Neumann, Wednesday.
Vandenberg had four goals and three assists and Pelliccione had four goals and an assist.
Connor Bevan had three goals and an assist and
Ryan Vandenberg had two goals and two assists.
Trey Stasse had a team-high eight groundballs while
Nick Mehnert and Bevan had seven each.
Sean Wallace made 12 saves in goal.
The Vandenbergs combined to score the last three goals over the final 6:00 to break a 12-12 tie.
Michael Kilgallon III gave MU an early lead with an unassisted goal less than two minutes into the game.
After a Neumann goal,
Connor Gundersen put MU back in front with 8:24 left in the first quarter.
Neumann pulled even with 5:16 to go, but Pelliccione scored twice in less than a minute to put the Cougars up 5-2 after one period.
Pelliccione scored late in the second quarter and early in the third as the Cougars extended their lead to 9-4.
Neumann scored three straight man-up goals in the third period and had another 3-0 run in the fourth to pull even, 12-12, with 6:34 to play.
Kyle Vandenberg put the Cougars in front for good with an assisted goal with 5:58 to play. Kilgallon found
Ryan Vandenberg with 5:03 to play and
Kyle Vandenberg closed the scoring with an assist from his brother with 1:35 remaining.
