The Misericordia University baseball team picked up a non-league win over Keystone, 10-7, Sunday at Tambur Field.
Derrick Vosburg,
Connor Maryniak and
Jason Sanfilippo all had three hits and
Brock Bollinger had three RBI while
Garrett McIlhenney scored three runs.
Justin Calvarese earned the win in relief and
Steve Rinda worked 3.2 innings to picked up the save.
Keystone scored in the top of the first and the Cougars answered with a run in the bottom half.Â
Garrett McIlhenney walked to open the first, stole second and scored the tying run on Vosburg's double to left center.
The Giants went up 3-1 in the second, but the Cougars responded with three runs to take the lead.Â
Connor Maryniak led of the second with a double and
Brendan Gray reached via hit by pitch.Â
Jason Sanfilippo doubled in a run and
Nick Giardino tied it with an RBI-ground out. Sanfilippo came home on a wild pitch to give MU a 4-3 lead.
After Keystone tied it in the third, MU scored three times in the fourth to go in front for good. Back-to-back doubles by Sanfilippo and Giardino gave the Cougars a 5-4 lead. McIlhenney singled and
Brock Bollinger drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Vosburg singled up the middle to make it 7-4.
Misericordia added an insurance run in the fifth and tacked on two more in the eighth. Maryniak led the off the fifth with and infield single and raced to third on Gray's bunt single. Maryniak scored when Gray was caught trying to steal.
Bollinger had a two-out, two-run double in the eighth to give Misericordia a 10-6 lead.
