Ryan Vandenberg tied a school record with nine goals as the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team opened its MAC Freedom schedule with a 29-11 win over King's, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Robert Wagner had five goals and four assists
Connor Bevan had five goals and three assists while
Kyle Vandenberg and
Jared Pelliccione both had three goals and three assists.
Michael Kilgallon III had five assists.
Ryan Vandenberg led the Cougars with nine groundballs and
Joey Cloidt had seven while Bevan and
Ryan Ott had five each.
Ryan Vandenberg scored twice in the first five minutes as the Cougars grabbed an early 4-0 lead.
His shot inside the right post gave the Cougars a 6-2 lead with 4:07 left in the first period and he scored off the opening face-off in the second quarter to make it 7-3.
Ryan Vandenberg scored four goals in a three-minute span late in the second quarter and added another with 1:13 left in the first half to give MU a 16-8 halftime lead.
The Cougars scored five man-up goals in the second half and tallied his 10
th of the game with 3:47 to go.
