The Misericordia University baseball team will face MAC Freedom opponent Stevens Institute of Technology in the Bristol Police Game, Wednesday, April 12 at Muzzy Field in Bristol, CT.

The game is a fundraiser to benefit the Bristol Police Department, Officer Alec Iurato and the families of Lieutenant Dustin DeMonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy who lost their lives in the line of duty in October.

Iurato, who was wounded in the ambush attack, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 6:00 game.  He was honored as the National Officer of the Month for his bravery during the attack.

Iurato is a 2018 graduate of Misericordia and was four-year letterman on the baseball team.  He earned All-MAC Freedom honors as an infielder and designated hitter and helped the Cougars advance to the 2018 D-III World Series.  In addition, he earned his degree in Government, Law & National Security and was a member of the MAC Academic Roll.

Misericordia will wear commemorative jerseys and will auction off the game-worn jerseys post-game.

In addition, various raffles will take place throughout the game.
