The Misericordia University baseball team swept a doubleheader from Lycoming, 13-2, 5-1, Sunday afternoon at Bowman Field.

Derrick Vosburg had two hits and three RBI in the opener and
Nick Giardino had two hits and two RBI.

Connor Maryniak added two RBI.

Steve Rinda struck out five over five innings to earn the win.

Jason Sanfilippo and
Brendan Gray both drove in two runs in the nightcap.

Maryniak struck out six over 5.2 innings to get the win and
Jaiden Cioffi got the final four outs to earn the save.

The Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first in game one and scored in every inning except the second.

McIlhenney opened the game with an opposite-field single and stole second. Vosburg walked and
Brady Madden drove in a run on a single to right. Maryniak made it 2-0 with an RBI-ground out an Madden late scored on a wild pitch.

Maryniak had another RBI-ground out in the fourth and Vosburg's bases-loaded double made it 7-2 in the fourth.

The Cougars scored four runs on just one hit to stretch the lead to 11-2 in the fifth. Maryniak walked to open the inning and Gray reached on an error before Sanfilippo was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A walk, single, HBP and sac fly plated four runs to complete the rally.

Giardino singled in a run in the sixth and the Cougars added an unearned run in the seventh.

Misericordia got all the runs it needed in the first inning of the nightcap.

McIlhenney led off with a single and went to third on Bollinger's double. Vosburg drove in the game's first run with a sac fly and Madden was hit by a pitch and
Joe Comins walked to load the bases. Sanfilippo singled down the right field line to make it 3-0 and Gray singled through the left side for the fourth run.

Comins doubled in the fifth and Gray's two-out double added an insurance run.
