Arcadia rallied for six runs over the final three innings to hand the #15 Misericordia University baseball team a tough 6-5 loss in the series opener, Thursday at Tambur Field.

Derrick Vosburg and
Brady Madden both drove in two runs for the Cougars.

Garrett McIlhenney singled to lead off the bottom of the ninth and moved to second on a wild pitch, but Arcadia made two nice defensive plays to end the game.

David McCurry struck out six and scattered six hits over 6.1 innings, but didn't factor in the decision.

The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the third inning with a two-out rally. McIlhenney was hit by a pitch and
Brock Bollinger reached on an error. Vosburg doubled to left field to put the Cougars in front.

Connor Maryniak singled up the middle with one out in the fourth and moved to second on a ground out.Â
Jason Sanfilippo followed with a double to left to make it 3-0.

Arcadia got one back in the top of the seventh, but the Cougars answered with two in their half.

McIlhenney was hit again to set the school single-season record with his 22
nd HBP and Bollinger drew a walk. After a sacrifice bunt, Madden's opposite-field single brought both runners home to put the Cougars up, 5-1.

The Knights scored three in the eighth and took their first lead with two runs in the top of the ninth.
