Genevieve Montanye scored the game-winning goal in the third overtime to lift the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 10-9 win over #23 Stevens in the regular season finale, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Montanye had five goals and an assist as the Cougars forced a three-way tie for first place at 7-1.Â
Kylee Cush had two goals and two assists and
Rachel Shook had two goals and an assist and five draw controls.

Michelle Torzilli had two assists, including the game-winner, and
Melanie Carbo scored a goal.
Â
Makenzie Tumini had six draw controls and
Madelyn Uetz had 11 saves.

Stevens took a 3-0 lead in the first five minute of the game before Cush took a long pass from Shook on a fast-break to score a man-down goal and start a 4-0 run for the Cougars.

Montanye used a spin move and placed a shot inside the right post to get within 4-2. Shook and Cush scored less than a minute apart to put MU in front, 4-3, with 3:44 left in the first period.

Stevens tied later in the first period, but Carbo whipped a shot from the left flank to put the Cougars back up, 5-4, with 12:58 to play in the second quarter.

The teams were scoreless for 10 minutes before the Ducks tied it with 2:32 to go before halftime. Cush hit Montanye in stride at the right post to give MU a 6-5 lead a minute later.

Shook juked a defender on the left flank and fired a shot inside the right post to open the scoring in the third quarter and give the Cougars a 7-5 lead.

After three Stevens goals, Montanye took a pass from Cush behind the net and bounced in a shot to tie the game, 8-8, early in the fourth quarter.Â

Montanye put the Cougars back in front on a perfect pass from Torzilli midway through the fourth quarter.

Stevens tied it late in the fourth and both teams made big defensive stands in overtime to set the stage for Montanye's game-winner.

Misericordia is the second seed in the MAC Freedom tournament and will host FDU-Florham in the semifinals, Wednesday.
