Garrett McIlhenney have been named the 2022-2023 Misericordia University Wendy's Athletes of the Year.

A women's soccer standout, Sweitzer was a first-team All-MAC Freedom selection and was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year.

She was a United Soccer Coaches first-team All-Region, first-team All-American and National Player of the Year.Â

She broke her own school single-season records with 24 goals and 64 points and added 16 assists, the second-highest single-season total in school history.

She led the Cougars to a number-one national ranking, a MAC Freedom championship and a trip to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.

A left fielder, McIlhenney led the baseball team to a 32-10 record and a berth in the MAC Freedom championship series starting Friday at Arcadia.

He set school single-season records with 62 runs, 33 stolen bases and 24 hit by pitches and reached base in all 42 games.Â

He is second in the MAC Freedom in on-base percentage (.594) and seventh in batting (.394).
