The Misericordia University field hockey team opened the 2023 season with a 2-1 win at Gwynedd Mercy to give head coach Robyn Fedor Stahovic her 200^th career victory.
 
Olivia Kempf had a goal and an assist and Lily Metress added a goal as the Cougars overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit.
 
The Griffins went ahead midway through the second quarter, but the Cougars rallied with two goals in the third period.
 
Kempf scored on her own rebound with an assist from Ashley Pilz to tie the game, 1-1, at 37:14.
 
Metress tallied the game-winner with an assist from Kempf less than three minutes later.
 
Sarah Bogina made six saves in goal for MU.
 
The Cougars held a 22-9 edge in shots and had a 15-4 advantage in penalty corners.
