The Misericordia University women's basketball team dropped its MAC Freedom matchup against Lebanon Valley, 64-51, Wednesday evening at Lebanon Valley.
Jocelyn Grosch led the Cougars with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Skylar Bianchi and
Caitlin Landgraf both added 12 points and went 2-2 from the foul line.
The teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter with a layup by Landgraf giving MU its first lead, 6-5.
Down 15-11 midway through the opening period, Grosch and Landgraf scored back-to-back baskets to pull even, 15-15, with 4:28 to go.
Samantha Casey's layup tied the score, 18-18, with 1:40 remaining and Grosch threw up a hook shot with 25 seconds left to end the first quarter with a two-point lead for the Cougars, 20-18.
The second quarter was scoreless for first three minutes before Lebanon Valley utilized a driving layup to tie the score, 20-20. Leb Val went on to take a 35-30 lead at halftime and were up 49-43 after three periods.
After falling behind by 12 points in the fourth quarter, MU cut the deficit to 60-51 on free throws from Grosch and two from
Bianchi.
Misericordia will travel to FDU-Florham, Saturday.
