Kevin Lazdowsky scored a game-high 29 points as the Misericordia University men's basketball team improved to 4-0 in the MAC Freedom with an 81-62 win at FDU-Florham, Saturday.

Derek Smith had 15 points and 15 rebounds and Joseph Baldachino added 15 points.

Down 37-36 early in the second half, the Cougars used a 21-2 run to take control of the game.

Lazdowsky made back-to-back baskets to put MU in front for good, 40-37 with 14:55 to play and Joseph Baldachino and R.J. Weise added three-pointers to make it 46-39.

Eli Stoute made two free throws before Smith connected on consecutive three-pointers to give MU a 54-39 lead with 8:53 to go.

Baldachino capped the run with a three-pointer to give MU a 57-39 lead with 7:51 to play.

The Devils never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
