Kevin Lazdowsky scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a 99-75 win at Delaware Valley in their MAC Freedom opener, Wednesday.
Joseph Baldachino added 22 points and
Nick Hornung had 12.
Nate Kreitzer scored 10 points and
Derek Smith grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Lazdowsky shot 12-13 from the floor, including 4-4 from three-point range. The Cougars shot 58.3% from the field and 53.6% (15-28) from three-point range.
Lazdowsky converted a three-point play and Baldachino made a three-pointer as the Cougars opened the game on an 8-0 run.
Kreitzer's layup made it 15-4 just over five minutes into the game and the Cougars maintained a double digit lead throughout the first half and led 57-36 at halftime.
The Aggies pulled within 59-52 early in the second half, but Baldachino answered with a three-pointer. The Cougars led by double digits throughout most the second and a three-pointer by Kreitzer and two free throws from Baldachino extended the lead to 82-61 with 5:41 to play.
