The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-2 loss to DeSales, Tuesday night in the Anderson Center.
The Cougars took the opener, 25-21, but DeSales rallied to win two straight.
MU cruised to a 25-14 win the fourth set, but DeSales took the finale, 15-13.
Cassandra Genduso led the Cougars with a match-high 21 kills and
Jenna Schuda had 43 assists and 11 kills.
Meghan Peters had 11 kills and three aces.
Sarah Journey had 14 digs and four aces.
Journey had two straight aces to cap a 4-0 run to give the Cougars an 18-17 lead in the opener. MU took a 21-20 lead on a DeSales error and Genduso's smash down the middle made it 22-20.
Peters' cross-court kill and a pair of Bulldogs' errors closed out a 25-21 win.
Peters had two kills and Schuda added an ace as the Cougars raced out to an 8-3 lead in the second set.
DeSales chipped away and eventually took a 24-23 lead. Peters tied it with a kill and two DeSales errors gave MU a 26-25 lead. DeSales answered with two kills and took advantage of an MU error to win, 28-26.
DeSales scored five straight points to take an 11-7 lead and never trailed again in a 25-20 lead in the third set.
Jessica Cleveland had back-to-back aces to fuel an 8-0 and give MU a 20-11 lead in the fourth set.
Schuda opened the fifth set with an ace, but DeSales answered with four straight points and never trailed again.
Genduso had two kills as MU scored three straight points to get within 14-13, but DeSales answered with a kill to close out the win.
