The Misericordia University men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five straight games win an impressive 2-1 win over FDU-Florham, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Max Jamieson scored for the Cougars while
Drew Weaver and
Shane Macko added assists while
Charlton Alonso made five saves to earn the win in goal.

Prior to the game, the Cougars honored Alonso,
Richard Billings,
Adam Korme,
Ahmad Neama,
Kyle Trapp, Weaver,
Timothy Worthington,
Anthony Yarabinee and
Justin Yarabinee for Senior Appreciation Day.

Locked in a defensive battle early on, Misericordia fell behind when the Devils scored at 15:08.

With time running out in the first half, Weaver chipped a pass to Uray on the left side of the box where he slotted a shot past the Devils sliding goalkeeper to put the Cougars on the scoreboard with seven seconds left in the first half.

The Cougars went in front just over six minutes into the second half when Jamieson headed a ball to Macko in the box where to Jamieson for a one-timer inside the right post and a 2-1 lead at 51:10.

Alonso made a diving save near the right post on a shot through traffic at 75:01in the bottom left corner of the net at 75:01 to maintain MU's lead.

The Cougars held the Devils without a shot the rest of the way.
