The Misericordia University volleyball team saw its eight-match win streak snapped with a 3-1 loss at William Paterson.
Cassandra Genduso led the Cougars with nine kills and two blocks. and
Jennifer Nicometo added eight kills.Â
Rachel LoFaso had six kills and two aces.
Jenna Schuda had 31 assists, 14 digs and two aces.
After dropping the first two sets, 25-11, 25-19, the Cougars rallied to win the third set, 26-24.
Paterson took the fourth set, 25-17, to clinch the win.
The Pioneers cruised to the first set win and scored five straight points to break a 14-14 tie in the second set.
Genduso had two kills and
Jessica Cleveland had an ace as part of a 5-0 run to give the Cougars a 9-3 lead in the third set.
Schuda's ace fueled a 4-0 run to stretch MU's lead to 18-10.
Paterson rallied to tie the score, 21-21, and Nicometo answered with an ace and a kill to give the Cougars a 23-21 lead.
Tied 24-24, LoFaso's kill and a block Genduso and Tullo closed out MU's 26-24 win.
The Cougars took a 7-6 lead in the finale, but Paterson answered five straight points to take control.
