The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped a 74-66 road contest at the University of Mt. St. Vincent, Tuesday.
Kevin Lazdowsky led the Cougars with 16 points and
Matt Prociak added 12 points.Â
Dewin Concepcion had 11 points and R.J. Weise had nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
The Cougars led 37-32 at halftime and built a 54-45 lead on a Concepcion three-pointer midway through the second half.
Mt. St. Vincent answered with 12 straight points to take a 57-54 lead with 7:19 to play. The Dolphins used a 10-2 run to take a 67-58 lead with 3:17 to play.
Arvel Chandler and Weise hit back-to-back three-pointers to get within 67-64 with 2:12 to go.
Concepcion made a layup to get MU within 67-66 with 1:28 left, but the Dolphins closed the game on a 7-0 run.
Trailing 19-14 midway through the first half, Concepcion and Lazdowsky both made three-pointers to help pull the Cougars even, 21-21, with 8:28 to go in the half.
Weise hit a three-pointer to give MU a 26-23 lead with 5:36 to go.
Down 30-29,
Eli Stoute connected on a three-pointer to put MU back in front, 32-30 with just under three minutes before halftime.
Jack Gallagher's layup gave MU a 36-30 lead with 1:54 left in the first half.
