The Misericordia University men's basketball team fell to Division I University of Delaware, 92-75, in their Education Day exhibition matchup at the Bob Carpenter Center, Tuesday afternoon.

Matt Prociak led the team with 16 points and six rebounds. He was a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc and also shot 4-5 at the charity stripe.

Kevin Lazdowsky and
Arvel Chandler contributed 10 points apiece.
Will Anozie shot 3-3 from three-point range as MU shot 44.4% from deep.

Chandler hit a clutch three-pointer with exactly 14 minutes to go in the first half, pulling the Cougars to within two points of the Blue Hens.

After a board by Prociak on the opposite side of the floor, MU took the ball down the court and quickly moved it over to Lazdowsky, who drained a fastbreak three to take a 12-11 lead.

The Cougars continued to hang tough with Delaware, as another fastbreak three-pointer fell for Anozie to build Misericordia's lead up to six points with just over nine minutes to go in the first frame

MU found themselves facing a 17 point deficit early in the second half, however a strong offensive performance inside the paint and a trio of threes from Prociak and Chandler brought the Cougars all the way back to tie the game at 56-56 with 12:37 remaining in regulation.Â

Despite Misericordia's gritty comeback performance, the Blue Hens managed to pull away midway through the second half and claimed victory, 92-75.
