Kevin Lazdowsky scored 29 points and Derek Smith had a double-double to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to an 89-68 win over FDU-Florham, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.
 
Smith had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Nate Kreitzer added 11 points.
 
The Cougars used a 12-0 run to break a 49-49 tie early in the second half.
 
Kreitzer made a pull-up jumper at the foul line and buried a deep three-pointer from the left wing.
 
Smith hit a three-pointer from the top of the key and Nick Hornung answered an FDU bucket with a three-pointer from the same spot for a 64-51 lead with 13:40 to go.
 
The Devils got within 68-59 midway through the second half, but Lazdowsky answered with an 8-0 run to put the game away.
 
Lazdowsky drilled a three-pointer from the left and then connected from long range from the other side to give MU a 74-59 lead with 8:46 left.  He added a jumper in the lane to make it 76-59 with 7:30 remaining.
