Michelle Torzilli tied the school single-game record with 11 points to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to an 18-11 win at Alvernia, Tuesday night.

Torzilli had eight goals and three assists, including three goals in the third quarter as the Cougars built a 14-8 lead.

Rachel Shook added five goals and two assists and a team-high seven draw controls.

Genevieve Montanye had two goals and three assists and
Melanie Carbo scored twice.

Natalie McKinney made 11 saves to earn the win in goal.

The teams traded goals throughout much of the first quarter until Shook and Torzilli scored a little over a minute apart to give MU a 4-2 lead with 2:14 left in the opening period.

The teams scored five teams each in the second period and the Cougars took a 9-7 lead into halftime.

Shook and Montanye scored bookend goals around two Torzilli tallies in the third period to put MU up 13-7 with 3:19 to go.
