The Misericordia University baseball team concluded its spring trip with an 8-1 win over Wabash, Friday morning in Port Charlotte, FL.
Steve Rinda worked five innings to get the win and combined with
Matt Lanzendorfer and
Aidan Paduck on a three-hitter.
Jack Regenye,
Brock Bollinger and
Gabe Bunn had two hits each for the Cougars.
The Cougars scored four runs in the top of the first and built a 7-0 lead through three innings.
McIlhenney and Regenye reached on back-to-back infield singles and later scored on an error.Â
Connor Maryniak and
Joe Comins both added RBI-singles to make it 4-0.
McIlhenney reached via hit by pitch with one out in the second inning. He stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and came home on Regenye's second infield single of the day.
Regenye came home on the back-end of a double steal to make it 6-0.
Comins was hit by a pitch to open the third and later scored on a wild pitch.
Bunn closed out the scoring with an RBI-single in the ninth.
