The Misericordia University baseball team finished a series sweep of Delaware Valley by taking a doubleheader, 18-6, 8-3, Sunday in Doylestown.
Joe Comins had two hits and two RBI and
Connor Maryniak had two hits and scored three runs.Â
Brock Bollinger drove in two runs and
Garrett McIlhenney scored four runs.
Gabe Bunn added two hits and
Brooks Kanwisher drove in three runs.
Justin Calvarese struck out seven over 5.2 innings of relief to earn the win.
The Cougars trailed 6-5 after three innings, but scored 13 runs over the final four innings.
Max Oliver struck out five over six innings in game two and
Tyler Leonard worked the final three innings to get the win.
The Cougars broke a 3-3 tie with five two-out runs in the top of the ninth.
Andrew Van Horn and Bollinger singled with one out and McIlhenney walked to load the bases.Â
Jack Regenye walked to force in the go-ahead run and
Jason Sanfilippo singled to make it 6-3.
Regenye scored on wild pitch and Maryniak reached on an error to allow the final run to score.
