Jared Hoffman hit a grand slam and
Garrett McIlhenney had four hits as the Misericordia University baseball team won its 10
th straight game with a 16-9 victory at Keystone, Wednesday.
Jason Sanfilippo had three hits and
Connor Maryniak had two hits, including a homer, and
Joe Comins and
Owen Cordner had two hits each.
The Cougars had 16 hits and took advantage of five Keystone errors as the scored in each of the first seven innings.
McIlhenney,
Jack Regenye and
Brock Bollinger all reached base to open the game and Hoffman hit a two-out grand slam to left field.
MU took advantage of two throwing errors on a bunt single to plate two runs in the second inning.
Another throwing error and a double steal led to a four-run third to give MU a 10-0 lead.
The Cougars added an unearned run and McIlhenney singled in a run and scored on a double steal to give MU a 10-0 lead in the third.
Misericordia scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings and Maryniak homered in the ninth.
