The Misericordia University women's volleyball team opened the season with a 3-0 loss at Scranton, Friday.
 Scranton came from behind in all three sets to win 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.
 Meghan Peters led the Cougars with nine kills and Cassandra Genduso had seven.
 Jenna Schuda had 15 assists and Jessica Cleveland had 15 digs and two aces.
 Sarah Kelly's kill and an ace by Schuda gave MU an 11-10 lead in the opener, but the Royals scored seven straight points to take the lead.
 Scranton used a 5-1 run to break a 16-16 tie to win the second set.
 MU led 9-8 in the finale, but the Royals scored eight straight points to go in front.
