The Misericordia University women's volleyball team swept a tri-match with Marywood and Elmira, Saturday afternoon in Elmira, NY.
Cassandra Genduso had a team-high eight kills in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-11) win over Marywood while Rachel LoFaso and Madison Tullo added six kills each.
Maggie Duda had six aces and Jenna Schuda had 30 assists and two aces.
Genduso added 12 kills in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-18) win over Elmira as the Cougars improved to 7-1.
Schuda had 28 assists, four blocks and three aces.
Sarah Journey had four aces and Keira McCaffrey had four blocks.
Against Marywood, LoFaso had two kills and Peters had two aces as part of 6-0 run to give the Cougars a 9-2 lead in the opening set.
The Cougars used a 9-1 spurt to build a 20-7 lead.
Jennifer Nicometo served for 10 straight points, including two aces, as the Cougars took an 11-1 lead in the second set.
Duda had two aces to cap a 6-0 run to give the Cougars a 24-11 lead.
Down 8-7 in the finale, Duda had four aces as the Cougars scored seven straight points to take a 14-8 lead.
Misericordia closed the match on a 7-1 run.
Against Elmira, Journey had three aces as the Cougars scored eight straight points to take a 16-8 lead in the opener.
In the second set, two more aces by Journey and a pair of kills from McCaffrey put the Cougars up, 17-4.
Sadie Stockslager and Nicometo combined for five kills as the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 19-13 lead in the finale.
