The Misericordia University men's wrestling team improved to 2-0 with an impressive 44-9 win over Keystone, Monday night in the Anderson Center.
 
Chase Stephen (157) and Robbie Anderson (184) both won by fall for the Cougars while Anthony Matas (174) won via technical fall.
 
Jariel Severino won by decision at 165 while Jaydin Barreto, Kaden Casey, Kruz McCusker and Michael Williams all won via forfeit in the first four weight classes.
 
Stephen took a 6-2 lead with a pair of fireman's carry takedowns in the first :45 of the match.  He added another takedown with a low single-leg on the edge of the mat before securing a fall with a half-nelson at 2:13.
 
Severino fell behind on a takedown with :45 to go in the first period, but earned an escape and took a 4-3 lead with a perfect double-leg takedown to beat the buzzer.
 
He scored a reversal early in the second period and maintained control throughout the rest of the stanza.
 
Severino used a low single-leg shot to take a 9-3 lead midway through the third period and added a riding time point to secure a 10-4 win.
 
Matas used a hard cross-face to fight off a shot and secure an early takedown and used a tilt to pile up four sets of near-fall points to win by tech. fall, 16-0, at 2:12.
 
Anderson came out on top of an early flurry on the edge the mat to take a 3-0 lead and used a double arm-bar to record a pin in 1:07.
 
MU's Simeon Hunte led a back-and-forth battle at 197, 7-3, early in the third period.  Keystone's Nero Bono earned an escape and tied the bout with a takedown with less than a minute remaining before recording a fall at 6:58.
 
At 285, Keystone's Rocco Arduini scored a takedown early in overtime to earn a hard-fought 9-6 win over Aiden Hidlay.
