The Misericordia University women's basketball team used big runs at the end of third and fourth quarters to pull away from King's in 68-50 win, Saturday afternoon at King's.

Leading 28-27 in the third quarter, the Cougars closed the period on a 16-7 run to take a 44-34 lead.

Up 49-43 early in the fourth quarter, MU went on a 19-7 run to end the game.

Jocelyn Grosch led the Cougars with 15 points, including five three-pointers, and added 11 rebounds.Â
Emily Romanowski had nine points, nine rebounds and five assists and
Ava Cirigliano added nine points.

Leading 28-27 with 7:54 to go in the third quarter, Romanowski scored two straight baskets and assisted on a Grosch three-pointer to ignite MU's run.

Cirigliano converted a three-point play and Grosch hit a three-pointer to give Mu a 41-31 lead with 2:08 to go.

After a King's bucket, Casey Heyman closed the period with a three-pointer to give the Cougars a 44-34 lead.

King's pulled with 49-43 with 7:24 remaining in the game, but the Cougars dominated down the stretch.

Samantha Casey made back-to-back layups and Grosch nailed another three-pointer to give MU a 56-44 advantage.
