The DeSales University women's basketball team broke open a close game in the second half on the way to a 49-29 win over Misericordia University, Wednesday night in the Anderson Center.
Emily Romanowski had five points and a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
After
Jocelyn Grosch opened the scoring with a layup, the teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter.
Romanowski buried a three-pointer from the left corner and added a layup to give MU a 9-6 lead midway through the first period.
Trailing 15-9 with 1:30 to go, Cirigliano scored from the left block and Grosch added a layup off a Cirigliano steal to end the first period with MU trailing 15-13.
The second quarter was a defensive struggle and DeSales took a 22-18 lead into halftime.
MU was held scoreless for the first eight minutes of the third quarter as DeSales built a 38-21 lead.
