The Misericordia University's men's basketball team's second-half rally fell short in an 89-73 loss at DeSales, Wednesday night.
Kevin Lazdowsky led the Cougars with 19 points and five assists and
Jack Gallagher added 16 points and a team-high six rebounds.Â
Eli Stoute added nine points on three three-pointers.
Dewin Concepcion's layup got MU within 23-22 midway through the first half, but the Bulldogs closed the half on an 18-6 run to take a 41-28 lead at intermission.
MU chipped away early in the second half thanks to a 9-0 run.
Down 45-30 with 17:58 to go, Gallagher made a driving layup and R.J. Weise converted a fastbreak off a steal by Stoute.
Gallagher followed with two free throws and Lazdowsky converted a three-point play to get within 45-39 with 14:54 to play.
The Cougars never got any closer and the Bulldogs pulled away down the stretch.
