The fourth honoree in the Misericordia Top 100 Student-Athletes of the Century countdown is #97 Joe Valenti.

A lefthanded pitcher, Valenti was rare five-year letterman and led the Cougars to the 2024 NCAA national championship.

After compiling a 12-5 record in his first four seasons, he enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024 while doubling his career win total.

He tied for the national lead in wins (12-3) and recorded a 2.59 ERA while earning ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-American status.

He set school single-season records with 12 wins and 114.2 innings pitched and had the fourth-highest single-season strikeout total with 72.

He finished second in school history with 24 wins and 206 strikeouts.
