After dropping the opening set, 24-26, the Cougars won three straight 25-22, 25-15, 25-19 to win their fourth straight match and improve to 14-6 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom.

Misericordia trailed for much of the first set. Down 16-9, The Cougars rallied to score eight of the next nine points to tie the match. The rally was capped off by a kill by LoFaso, and a lob over the net was sent by Schuda to earn the kill to even up the score at 17-17.

Misericordia took the lead with two straight blocks, the first from LoFaso and McCaffery, and second coming from McCaffery and Meghan Peters. The rest of the match went back and forward, but despite coming out of that hole, the Devils scored three straight points on attack errors to take the first set by a score of 26-24.

The Cougars came out swinging in the second set, taking an 8-2 lead on kills from LoFaso and McCaffery. FDU-Florham clawed their way back however, and went on a 11-2 run to take the lead 13-10. The next few points were split between each team.

Misericordia went on a 5-1 scoring run, capped off by a service ace by Schuda to take the lead 20-19. The Cougars took off from there, scoring five of the next eight points. The set was finished off with a strike by Schuda.

The third set started off back and forth with Misericordia holding a narrow 10-9 lead. The Cougars scored the next five points, including two service aces by Duda. The Devils attempted to come back, making as close as 17-14, but Misericordia slammed the door shut, taking the last eight out of nine points, including three kills by Jennifer Nicometo to take the third set 25-15.

In the fourth set, FDU-Florham held a 14-12 lead at the half way point, but the Cougars scored the next eight points, which featured three kills by LoFaso, to take 20-14 lead. They held that lead until the very end, and a kill by Nicometo closed the match, with Misericordia winning the final set 25-19 and match overall 3-1.

The Cougars will participate in their first home tri-match of the season with Moravian and Montclair State on Saturday.
