The Misericordia men's soccer team won its second straight game with a 3-2 win over DeSales, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Corbin Lankford, Kohen Stiles and Nicholas Passaniti all scored for the Cougars who increased their unbeaten streak to three straight.
Numssen notched an assist.
The first half was played very defensively by both teams as only seven total shots were taken.
The Bulldogs had a great look at the goal early, but Santino Jannotte made a leaping stop on the Bulldogs' most dangerous play of the half at 7:40.
The next potential opportunity for the Bulldogs was snuffed out early by Jannotte again as he came off his line to smother the ball before the offense could attempt a shot in a 1-v-1 situation.
The Cougars broke through early in the second half when Lankford connected on a free kick from outside the top left corner of the box to give Misericordia a 1-0 lead at 48:48.
DeSales found a couple good looks at the net in the 75th and 76th minutes, but Jannotte showed his athleticism with back-to-back stops to preserve the lead.
He made a leaping stop near the right post and made a diving save to his left.
The Cougars doubled their lead with an insurance goal when Numssen took the ball deep into DeSales territory and dished to Stiles in the lower left side of the box, where he drilled a tough-angle shot into the right side netting at 77:58.
Passaniti juked a defender in the box and bought himself enough time to send a cannon inside the left post for what proved to be a critical goal at 78:00.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the final eight minutes, but the Cougars held on for the 3-2 win.
