The Misericordia University hockey team dropped its home opener, 11-1, to Stevenson on Hometown Heroes Night, Friday at the Toyota SportsPlex.
Patrick Toomey scored for the Cougars with assists from
William Moran and Zach Micciche.
Stevenson scored four times in a nine-minute span on the way to a 5-0 lead after one period.
Toomey stuffed a rebound inside the left post from the left wing midway through the second period.
The Cougars and Mustangs will conclude the two-game series, Saturday night at the Toyota SportsPlex.
