The Misericordia University hockey team dopped a 4-2 decision at King's, Tuesday night in Pittston.
Corbin Scheibel and
Jack Tos scored goals for the Cougars while
Nolan Berner,
Charles Obobaifo and
Eric Kotkowski added assists.
Patrick Toomey won 8 of 12 faceoffs while
William Moran won 7 of 13.
King's took a 1-0 lead at 3:02 of the first period and added a goal with less than two minutes remaining in the period.
Scheibel scored a backhanded goal on a rebound on a power play to cut the deficit in half midway through the second period.
King's scored twice in a three-minute span to extend the lead to 4-1 in the second period.
Tos buried a rebound near the right post at 11:02 to close out the scoring.
Ayden Pierce made eight saves in 26 scoreless minutes in relief in net.
The Cougars outshot the Monarchs, 33-21.
