The Misericordia University volleyball team ended a perfect MAC Freedom regular season with a 3-1 win at Lebanon Valley, Wednesday night.

After dropping the opening set, 29-27, the Cougars won three straight, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.

MU improved to 20-8 overall and finished 7-0 in league play.
Â
Meghan Peters had 15 kills to become the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills.
Keira McCaffrey added 13 kills, seven blocks and three aces while
Maggie Duda had 21 digs and four aces.

Cassandra Genduso had 10 kills and
Jenna Schuda had 42 assists.

The opening set was back-and-forth throughout with the Dutchmen eventually building an 18-14 lead.

Peters served for six straight points, including two aces, to give MU a 20-18 lead.

The teams traded points the rest of the away with Leb Val ultimately winning, 29-27.

MU used a big run to take control of the second set and then held off a late Dutchmen rally.

McCaffrey had two aces and a kill while serving for six straight points to give the Cougars an 11-6 lead.Â

Leb Val pulled within 21-20, but Duda had an ace as part of a 4-0 run to close out the set.

The third set was another close affair as neither team led by more than four points throughout the set. McCaffrey and
Jennifer Nicometo combined for a block and
Sarah Journey had an ace as the Cougars took a 20-16 lead.

Peters had a kills and Genduso had two kills for MU's final three points in a 25-22 win.

MU raced out to an early lead in the finale and never looked back. Kills by Schuda and McCaffrey gave the Cougars a 9-2 lead.

Misericordia scored five straight points to take a 19-11 lead to put the match away.

The Cougars will conclude the regular season, Saturday, and will host Lebanon Valley in the MAC Freedom Semifinals, Wednesday.
