The Misericordia University women's basketball team lost to McDaniel, 58-45, in the championship game of the Rebecca Martin Memorial Tip-Off Tournament, Saturday night.
Emily Romanowski led the Cougars with 21 points and nine rebounds and was named to the all-tournament team.Â
Morgan Janeski added nine points for MU.
After falling behind 22-5 after one period, the Cougars charged back and got within 39-36 on a Janeski three-pointer late in the third quarter.
Brenna Hunt converted a three-point play to cut the deficit to 41-39 with less than a minute remaining in the third period.
The Green Terror went on a 10-1 run to regain a double-digit lead.
The first quarter was dominated by McDaniel as the Cougars only made two shots over the first 10 minutes.
After a Green Terror scoring run, Romanowski scored eight straight points in the second quarter. The Cougars 10-point run was capped off by a
Marisa Captoni layup  and the half ended on a jumper by Purdy.
Caitlin Landgraf started off the quarter with a jumper for Misericordia. Misericordia went on a 15-2 that featured back-to-back three pointers from
Morgan Janeski and Romanowski, and was capped off by a
Janeski pull-up to take the game within one possession. At the end of the third quarter.
The Green Terror connected on 11 free throws in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
