The Misericordia University men's basketball team clinched a MAC Freedom postseason berth with a 73-52 win over King's, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.

Matt Prociak had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds and
Derek Smith had 15 points in just 16 minutes.

Kevin Lazdowsky added 11 points and seven rebounds while
Darryl Wright had 10 rebounds and R.J. Weise grabbed nine boards.

The Cougars broke a 21-21 tie with a 9-0 run late in the first half.

Arvel Chandler drained a three-pointer and
Jack Gallagher followed with a putback of his own miss.

Prociak and Lazdowsky had back-to-back layups to make it 30-21 with 3:20 left in the half.

King's made two free throws for the only scoring over the final 3:20 and Mu led 30-23 at halftime.

The Cougars led throughout the second half and broke the game open over the final 10 minutes.

Prociak,
Dewin Concepcion and Smith all connected from long range to give the Cougars a 57-44 lead with 10:01 remaining.

Smith, Prociak and Chandler combined for four three-pointers in a 12-2 spurt that stretched the lead to 71-49 with 4:34 to play.

The Cougars will travel to Delaware Valley for the MAC Freedom Semifinals, Wednesday.
