The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team suffered a tough 10-8 loss to Western Connecticut State, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars rallied from a three-goal deficit to take 7-6 lead in the fourth period, but the Wolves answered with four straight goals in a seven-minute span to go back in front.

Jared Pelliccione led MU with three goals while
Connor Bevan scored twice.Â
Aiden D'Ambrosio and Connor Gunderson had a goal and an assist and
Brendan Stanley added a goal.Â

Ty Murawski had two assists.

Chris Dindino made 15 saves in goal and
Trey Stasse had a team-high six ground balls.

Western Connecticut State took a 1-0 lead just a over a minute into the game and Bevan pulled the Cougars even 30 seconds later with a shot just under the crossbar.

The Wolves took a 2-1 lead with 5:03 left in the first quarter and Pelliccione bounced in a shot less than a minute later.

The Wolves scored four of the next five goals to take a 6-3 lead at halftime,

Pelliccione placed a shot in the top right corner early in the third quarter Gundersen hit D'Ambrosio in stride and he finished inside the right post to cut the margin to 6-5 midway through the third quarter.

Bevan tied it with a shot from the top of the circle and Pelliccione fired a shot inside the right post to give MU its first lead, 7-6, with 8:19 to play.

Gundersen added a goal with less than a minute to play.
