teamDespite hitting four home runs, the Misericordia University baseball dropped its MAC Freedom opener to Arcadia, 10-8, Friday afternoon at Tambur Field.

Brock Bollinger and Brian Korchok both hit a pair of homers and Jack Regenye had three hits.

Steve Rinda worked 61. Innings, but didn't factor in the decision.

Jake McDonough drew a two-out walk and Korchok hit a two-run homer to left to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

After Arcadia took a 3-2 lead in the top of the second, the Cougars regained the lead with a pair of two-out runs in their half of the inning.

Regenye singled in a run and McDonough was hit by a pitch to force in a run for a 4-3 lead.

Korchok homered to left to lead off the fifth and Bollinger hit a two-run homer to center to give the Cougars a 7-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth.

Arcadia erupted for seven runs in the top of the eighth to take a 10-7 lead.

Bollinger homered again to start the eighth inning and the Cougars loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but stranded three runners.

The teams will resume the series with a doubleheader at Arcadia, Saturday.
