The Misericordia University baseball team scored in all but one inning in an 18-2 win in their series opener at Delaware Valley, Friday.
Owen Daminger had three hits while
Brock Bollinger,
Brooks Kanwisher,
Josh Burger,
Drew Van Horn and
Brian Korchok all had two hits.
Max Oliver threw six shutout innings and got relief help form
Dante Viola and
Sam Lincoln.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the first on Daminger's RBI-ground out.
Bollinger had an RBI-double and Korchok singled in a run to key a four-run second inning.
The Cougars took advantage of a Del Val to plate a run in the third and Van Horn's sacrifice fly capped a four-run fourth to stretch the lead to 10-0.
Misericordia added five runs in the seventh on four straight hits by Kanwisher,
Jared Hoffman, Burger and
Joe Peters along with
Chasen Kirk's bases-loaded HBP and
Jeff Policarpio's bases-loaded walk.
The series resumes with a doubleheader, Saturday at Tambur Field.
