The Misericordia University baseball team rebounded from yesterday's tough loss with a dominant 14-0 win over Alvernia, Tuesday in Ft. Pierce, FL.
The Cougars got their second grand slam of the week with
Brock Bollinger doing the honors today. Bollinger had three hits and drove in five runs and scored five runs.
Owen Cordner had three hits while
Jake McDonough and
Brian Korchok had two hits each. Bollinger and McDonough both had triples.
Bryan Henry allowed just three hits over seven innings and
Wiley Fleck and
Rocco Viscito worked an inning each to complete the shutout.
Korchok had a two-run single to help the Cougars take a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Bollinger tripled in a run and
Owen Daminger had a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0 in the second.
McDonough tripled to drive in a run and scored on Korchok's single to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead in the fourth.
MU scored a pair of unearned runs to increase their lead to 9-0 in the sixth.
Bollinger's grand slam in the seventh made it 13-0 and
Matt Yarborough drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the scoring in the top of eighth.
