MU Baseball Wins Second Straight

The Misericordia University baseball team picked up its second victory in two days, doubling up Kenyon, 10-5, Wednesday in Ft. Pierce, FL.
 
Brock Bollinger and Jake McDonough accounted for six of the Cougars' 10 runs as the duo drove in three runs apiece. Bollinger had four hits in five plate appearances, stole four bases and scored twice. 
 
Jack Regenye and Brooks Kanwisher both had three hits while Brian Korchok, Drew Van Horn, Bollinger and McDonough all had doubles in the win.
 
Max Kneidinger struck out eight and only allowed four hits over six innings to record his first win of the season. Zak Lussier came on in relief and recorded a strikeout and two groundouts in one inning of work. Owen Daminger pitched two scoreless frames with a pair of strikeouts to close out the game.
 
McDonough ripped a single down the left field line to bring home Bollinger and put MU on the board in the bottom of the first. Gabe Bunn singled to left to score McDonough open a 2-0 lead.
 
Bollinger knocked in Kanwisher with a single through the left side and McDonough picked up another RBI in the second as the Cougars led 4-0.
 
Bollinger singled down the right field chalk, allowing Regenye to score all the way from first. Back-to-back doubles by McDonough and Korchok brought in two more runs as Misericordia took a 7-3 lead in the fourth.
 
Bunn scored from third on a fielding error and Regenye picked up another RBI on a single through the right side to give MU a 9-3 lead in the fifth.
 
In the eighth, Bollinger reached on an infield single as Regenye raced around the bases to score from second, capping off a productive day at the plate and securing the 10-5 win.
 
The Cougars continue their slate of games in the Sunshine State when they take on Heidelberg, Thursday at 1:30.
