The next honoree in the Misericordia Top 100 Student-Athletes of the Century countdown is #37 Nate Newman.

Newman was a four-time all-conference selection in baseball.

He was a three-time first-team All-MAC Freedom selection after earning second-team All-PAC status as a first year.

He was the MVP of the 2011 MAC Freedom championships while leading the Cougars to the first of 10 straight conference titles and their first NCAA Tournament berth.

Newman also earned All-ECAC and all-region status.

He shares the school single-season home run record and has three of the top-10 single-season home run totals and is the all-time leader in homers.

He ranks second in career total bases, third in RBI and sixth in runs scored.

He is tied for eighth in the single-season hits and is tied for fifth in single-season triples.

In addition, he owns the school single-season ERA record.

He was inducted into the Misericordia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
