The Misericordia University opened its MAC Freedom series with King's with a 10-6 win to extend its win streak to four straight games, Wednesday.
Josh Burger had three hits and
Brock Bollinger,
Brian Korchok and
Jake McDonough all added two hits.
Owen Cordner had a two-run homer.
Evan Wittig went 6.1 to earn the win and
Aidan Paduck struck out four over 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Down 2-0, Cordner tied it with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth. Burger followed with an infield single and later scored on
Brooks Kanwisher's sacrifice fly to give the Cougars a 3-2 lead.
Korchok scored on a wild pitch and
Jared Hoffman had a sac fly in the fifth as the Cougars extended their lead to 5-2.
Korchok and McDonough both had RBI-singles in the sixth to put MU up, 7-2.
King's got a run back in the bottom of the sixth, but the Cougars answered with three in the top of the seventh to take a 10-3 lead.
The series resumes with a doubleheader, Thursday at noon at Tambur Field.
