The Misericordia University baseball team split a doubleheader at Stevens to clinch the second seed in the MAC Freedom Championships, Sunday.
The Cougars took the opener, 2-1, to wrap-up second place before dropping the nightcap, 12-2.
After allowing a solo homer in the bottom of the first,
Max Oliver held the Ducks scoreless the rest of the way in game one. Oliver struck out six while allowing just four hits.
The Cougars tied it with a run in the fourth and scored the game-winner in the sixth.
Brock Bollinger doubled to lead off the fourth and scored on
Owen Daminger's two-out single to right center.
Jack Regenye reached on an error to start the sixth and stole second base.Â
Oliver held Stevens hitless over the final four innings.
The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first of the nightcap, but Stevens tied it in their half and added four runs in the second.
Misericordia will host Arcadia in the opening game of their MAC Freedom Semifinal, Friday at 3:30.
