Arcadia Takes Game One in 10 Innings, Game Two Set for 10:40

Arcadia scored a run in the top of the 10th inning to take game one of the MAC Freedom Baseball Semifinal, 11-10, Saturday morning at Tambur Field.

The Cougars put the potential game-winning run on base in the bottom of the 10th, but left two runners stranded.  Joe Peters drew a two-out pinch-hit walk and Owen Daminger was hit by a pitch to put the tying run in scoring position.

The Misericordia University baseball team battled to a 10-10 tie with Arcadia before the opening game of the MAC Freedom Semifinal series was called due to darkness, Friday.

The Cougars rallied from an early 7-3 deficit to take a 10-7 lead, but Arcadia rallied for three runs in the ninth to tie the game.

Brock Bollinger had three hits and two RBI and Owen Daminger had two hits and three RBI.  Jake McDonough drove in three runs and Brooks Kanwisher scored three runs.

Aidan Paduck and Zak Lussier combined for 4.2 innings of scoreless innings of relief.

After Arcadia scored three runs in the top of the first, MU answered with three runs in the bottom half.   Kanwisher was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Bollinger lined a one-out single to right.  Brian Korchok lined a single to center to drive in MU's first run and Daminger's two-out single up the middle plated to more to tie the score.

Arcadia scored four more runs in the second led 7-3.  The Cougars tied it again in the fourth.  Drew Van Horn, Kanwisher and Regenye all walked to load the bases.  After a pitching change, Bollinger lined the first pitch back through the box to drive in two runs and McDonough blooped a double into short right field to make it 7-7.

Kanwisher ranged to his left to start a 4-6-3 double play to escape a bases-loaded jam in the top of the sixth and the Cougars took their first lead in their next at-bat.  Regenye singled up the middle and went to third when Bollinger's single was misplayed in the outfield.  Regenye raced home with the go-ahead run on a wild pitch strikeout.

The Cougars loaded the bases on three straight walks in the eighth and McDonough drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to center.  Daminger lined a single to left to make it 10-7.
