The Misericordia University women's volleyball team swept Widener, 25-18, 25-18, 25-22, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.

Cassandra Genduso led the Cougars with 10 kills and Keira McCaffrey had four aces and two blocks.

Jenna Schuda had 26 assists and Sarah Journey had 11 digs.

Schuda moved into second place in school history with 3,115 assists.

Journey opened the match on six straight service points thanks to three kills by Meghan Peters.

Widener rallied to get within a point, 15-14, but McCaffrey had two aces to key a 5-0 run for a 20-14 lead.

The Cougars closed the set with four straight points.

Rachel LoFaso had two kills as part of a 6-0 run to give MU a 17-9 lead in the second set.

MU trailed throughout much of the third set before rattling of seven straight points to take a 22-16 lead.
