The Misericordia University volleyball team swept a tri-match with Stockton at Messiah, Saturday, to improve to 5-1.
After dropping the first set of the day, the Cougars rallied to win three straight for their first ever win over Messiah, 3-1.
They came back from a 2-1 deficit to beat Stockton, 3-2, in the nightcap.
Meghan Peters had 21 kills against Messiah while
Sarah Steeber and
Cassandra Genduso added 10 each.
Jenna Schuda had 38 assists, three aces and two blocks and
Maggie Duda had 14 digs.
Peters had a team-high 17 kills against Stockton and
Keira McCaffrey and Genduso had 15 and 11, respectively.
Schuda had 51 assists and Duda had 15 digs.
Sarah Journey had four aces and
Madison Tullo had three blocks.
The Cougars dropped the opening set to Messiah, 25-23, but took the next three sets, 25-23, 25-18, 25-18.
MU used an 8-1 run to break a 15-15 tie in the clincher. Peters had four kills to key the surge.
Misericordia took the opener against Stockton, 25-20, but the Ospreys won the next two, 25-22, 25-23. MU won 25-21 to force a decisive fifth set.
LoFaso had two kills as the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 10-4 lead.
Lily Andersen added an ace and Peters closed the match with a kill.
