MU Women Fall at Arcadia

The Misericordia women's basketball team fell to Arcadia, 68–54, Wednesday night.

Emily Romanowski led the Cougars with a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Caitlin Landgraf had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Misericordia scored the first points of the game on a three-pointer from the top of the arc by Romanowski.

After a made free throw made it 4–0, Arcadia responded with 12 straight points.

Romanowski broke the run with a jumper from the elbow.

Following some Arcadia free throws, Caitlin Landgraf converted a putback, but the Knights closed the quarter on an 8–0 run to tak3 a 22–8 lead after the first quarter.

Morgan Janeski opened the second quarter with a three-pointer from the left wing.

Misericordia continued to battle  as Landgraf and Romanowski each scored on driving layups to cut Arcadia's lead to 13.

The Cougars finished the half on a 7–2 run, highlighted by a Janeski corner three, a driving layup from Ava Cirigliano and two free throws from Chase Purdy to get within 34-23 at halftime.

Landgraf scored Misericordia's first points of the third quarter with a mid-range jumper.

Romanowski followed with a jumper in the paint and Mitchell knocked down a three-pointer from the top of the arc.

After a brief Arcadia run, Landgraf and Mitchell scored back-to-back layups.

The Knights answered with a 5–0 run, but Misericordia closed the quarter strong with a Janeski three-pointer and a Landgraf layup.

Misericordia attempted a late comeback in the fourth quarter, at one point going on a 14–3 run.

The Cougars scored the first six points of the quarter with a Mitchell layup, a Purdy up-and-under layup, and a Landgraf layup.

Sarah Dahl then hit a three-pointer from the left wing and Romanowski added a driving layup to cut the deficit to three possessions.

Romanowski later converted four straight free throws to bring the margin down to eight, but Arcadia responded from the free-throw line to seal the game.
