The Misericordia University hockey team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Arcadia, Friday night at the Toyota SportsPlex.
Brendan Johnson scored the lone goal for the Cougars with an assist from
Patrick Toomey.
Mason Jones made 31 saves in net and Toomey was 8-14 on face-offs.
Jones left the crease to cut down the angle on a breakaway to keep the game scoreless late in the first period.
Johnson gave MU the lead with a power play goal on a rebound midway through the second period.
Jones came up big again with back-to-back saves on an Arcadia power play in the second period to keep MU in front.
Arcadia scored twice in a two-minute span early in the third period to take the lead and added an empty-net goal with just over a minute to play.
